A LITTLE HISTORY
If you’re considering a move to our city, welcome! Cedarville boasts an ever-improving and growing public school system. The city park, located next to City Hall, is perfect for a family picnic or birthday party. Many improvements have been made to the city since incorporation in 1998, including the addition of a Dollar General Store, Harp’s Grocery Store, and a Citizen’s Bank branch.
Cedarville has several area churches, with the First Baptist and First Assembly of God located within city limits. There are two convenience stores: Aaron’s Corner Store(at the corner of Hwy 59 North and Hwy 220 West), and Cedarville Convenience Store(directly across Hwy 59 from the High School).
The city limits encompass 8.8 square miles and Cedarville’s population is 1,394 as of the 2010 Census. Cedarville was first incorporated on July 19, 1881, un-incorporated in 1981, and re-incorporated on September 25, 1998. More information about Cedarville’s history can be found on The Encyclopedia of Arkansas History and Culture website.

Making a Difference
Area native Shelbi Rice is the 2018-2019 Miss National High School Rodeo Queen. She serves and represents the National High School Rodeo Association. During the 2017-18 AHSRA season she was the Student President for AHSRA. She wanted to be able to give something back to the rodeo communities and started Rodeo for a Cure-Project Hunger. In every town that hosted Arkansas High School Rodeo Association that season she found a place to donate food. Her focus was primarily on the Little Free Pantries in the communities. If one was not available she donated to a local organization. Her goal was not only to help the hungry, but also to raise awareness of childhood hunger in Arkansas. Shelbi started a Little Free Pantry in Cedarville located at the District 4 Volunteer Fire Department. Folks around here are very proud of Shelbi – the Mayor of Cedarville recently declared September 28 to be Shelbi Rice Day!
